At Cardinal Hill, giving children with special needs the care they deserve has always been a top priority. Not often do you find so many pediatric specialists, treatment plans specifically tailored to children, and a state-of-the-art "child-friendly" environment all in one location.

We're proud to offer children comprehensive services and programs that enable them to grow and succeed.

Facility 

The first floor of the Lyman V. Ginger Pediatric Center is home to our preschool, which is open to special needs children from birth to five years of age.

The first floor also offers outpatient Physical, Occupational and Speech-Language Therapy for children ages birth to 17.

Our treatment areas include individualized Speech and Therapy rooms, a gross motor gym and a Sensory Integration gym.

Sensory Integration
 
Cardinal Hill specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sensory integration problems in children. Our one-of-a-kind sensory integration gym assists children who have difficulty organizing movements and need help processing sensations for use in their environments.

Carefully designed activities under the direct supervision of a therapist help children organize their movements through improved sensory processing. We also offer Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests.

 Pediatric Dysphagia

Cardinal Hill offers a Pediatric Eating and Swallowing Clinic for children who have difficulty drinking or eating by mouth, accepting new foods and/or gaining weight.

The goals of the clinic are to assist children in eating a variety of foods safely, reaching optimal eating skills and making mealtime more enjoyable for children and their families.

Augmentative & Alternative Communication Device Evaluations

Cardinal Hill has a growing augmentative communication program with specialized equipment to test and treat a variety of pediatric communication needs.

This program is led by an assistive technology specialist.

Hand & Upper Extremity Program

Cardinal Hill’s Pediatric Hand & Upper Extremity Program, overseen by a certified Hand Therapist, strives to help each individual patient recover from traumatic injury, joint degeneration or neurological problems associated with the hand and upper extremities.

Wheelchair Clinic

This clinic allows therapists to assess a child's wheelchair needs. We can make sure the chair is a proper fit and of the right skill level for the individual.

Functional Vision Program - This program is designed to assist children with impaired visual motor skills related to reading and writing. We offer a wide variety of eye hand coordination and visual perceptual activities.

Community Involvement 

Cardinal Hill’s Pediatric program strives to offer many programs and events that give our patients the opportunity to participate in activities that may not normally be available to children with disabilities.
